Download oxob
For Apple Silicon Macs. Windows and Linux: not available yet.
Install
Paste this into Terminal:
curl -fsSL https://oxobagents.com/install.sh | sh
It checks your Mac, downloads the current release, checks the download, copies oxob.app
into /Applications (or ~/Applications if you cannot write there) and opens it. No password,
no Open Anyway. Read the script first if you like: every step is commented.
Get a key
oxob is free during the beta and needs a key. Write to dev@oxobagents.com and we'll send you one. oxob asks for it when you first start it.
Questions, bugs and feedback are welcome on Discord.
Before you start
- An Apple Silicon Mac with macOS 13 or newer.
- One agent CLI installed and signed in: Claude Code, Codex or agy.
Check that typing
claude(orcodex, agy) in a new Terminal window works: oxob finds them the same way. - Costs: oxob is an orchestrator. Model costs are billed directly to your own CLI accounts (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google), as if you ran the CLI yourself.
- Git: oxob asks for Apple's Command Line Tools if they are missing.
Updates
oxob offers new versions by itself: it downloads a new one in the background and asks you to restart. Settings › About › Check for updates turns the check off. To update by hand, quit oxob and run the install command again.
What oxob sends and changes
What it sends
- The licence check: oxob makes a random number on each Mac. The check sends it with your key, at start and once a day while oxob runs. We keep that number, your email (and name, if you gave one), your key and its dates; nothing else.
- The update check: asks only which version is newest, with no user or machine id, at start and every 4 hours. A newer release comes down in the background.
Your IP address reaches Cloudflare, which hosts both, as with any request. Nothing else leaves your Mac: no code, no file names, no terminal logs, no usage data.
What it writes on your Mac
Besides oxob.app itself, all of it in your own folders, no system files:
~/oxob/: your projects.~/.config/oxob/: settings and your licence.~/Library/Application Support/oxob: the window's own files and a downloaded update.~/.local/bin/oxob: theoxobterminal command, and one line in~/.zshrcso that zsh finds it. On bash or fish, add~/.local/binto yourPATHyourself.- If you connect agy: two changes in agy's own settings, which apply to all your agy use, not only
in oxob: oxob's tools are added, and agy may use them, read files and run
git addandgit commitwithout asking. Uninstall below lists each. - Claude and Codex: each oxob project's folder is marked as trusted in their settings, so they start there without asking whether you trust the folder. Removing the project in oxob removes the mark.
Deleting oxob.app leaves the rest. Uninstall below lists each.
Uninstall
- Quit oxob.
- Delete
oxob.appfrom/Applicationsor~/Applications. - Delete the
oxobterminal command:~/.local/bin/oxob, and the line ending in# added by oxobin~/.zshrc. - Delete oxob's settings and licence:
~/.config/oxoband~/Library/Application Support/oxob. - If you connected agy: run
agy mcp remove oxob, and in~/.gemini/antigravity-cli/settings.jsonremove frompermissions.allow:mcp(oxob/*),command(git status),command(git log),command(git diff),command(git show),command(ls),command(pwd),command(cat),command(head),command(tail),command(wc),command(grep),command(rg),command(tree),command(jq),command(git add),command(git commit). ~/oxob/holds your projects: keep them or delete them. Removing a project in oxob first also removes its "trusted" mark in Claude's and Codex's settings.
